But we only drove it to diagnose, not really for fun (didn’t want to have to be walking back to the shop)

Wow, that's a really clean example! In the late 50s my uncle used to take me for low speed rides in his 300SL with the doors open. I'm certain that my car obsession is all his fault!
What a great thing to do
but the PRV V6 is on of the worst engines ever made.At the 80's I have working with those in Volvo 260 series when the cylinder liners came off and the oil pan filled with water.
PRV = Peugeot Renault Volvo = a match made in engineering heaven? I think not
