Yes, if back in 1990s it was more rugged and less of a luxury commemorative watch, it could have been a great tool watch with a Suunto Compass. There is no consumer GPS, people would hike into the wilderness with a knife, matches, compass, maps, and a wat...

I feel it “bookends” my collection, certainly in terms of case size. The movement is particularly impressive.

I don't know the exact year it was made but it would be around the middle of WW2 when the V2 program began. There are several of these ALS watches, but obviously extremely rare. The V2 program was top secret, the existance of these watches was unknown unt... 

In WW2, this could have been the Ultimate Weapon if the Manhattan Project had not succeeded in the A-Bomb. Even the United States had no delivery mechanism as advanced as the German Rockets. Fortunately German scientists did not have enough time to comple...  

Trying to make a deal on it, unfortunately it was a cash deal (who carries that much currency???) I was able to see that the dial is missing the rune SS which is part of the reason for a lower asking price, but what was really interesting is that the rear...

Both Seiko and GS offer some funky models. Two brands I admire so much. Digital watches like your Casio always looked Funky to me. But very practical with all the complications and ruggedness they offer. Hagwe! Abel
