Judges and verdicts for the April WS ‘Behind the Wheel’
As entries were still coming in, I let the WS run a tad longer - and have the feeling that many a member enjoyed the theme - resulting in superb shots and some delectable machinery (both of the wrist and transportation types).
Even so, it’s slowly time to come to a verdict for April and the judges are:
- Abel for Static
- Captain Scarlett for Wristshot
- Art for Vintage and
- Yours truly for Watch of the Month.

Starting off with the Watch of the Month…
It might be a tired little metaphor but with the entries on offer judging truly wasn’t easy.
Two more special mentions go to Brendon And Watchonthewrist for the pairing of the watch to the steering wheel:

And Terbaboom with the spectacular throwback combination of Polo and Porsche…
And the first place this week goes to MTR’s modernity shot with the Hautlence Linear Series 2:
Before the winners are announced, two shots get a special mention from me, as the watches tell a story. Many, many moons ago, long before I became a member here and before anything that could be called a watch collection (I believe the Breitling Aerospace was the only one of the currently worn watches I had back in the day), we used to live in Switzerland. Which meant that even if the watch bug wasn’t as strong back then or watches generally not as affordable to me (remember that a good portion o disposable income went for long phone calls to my then girlfriend, now wife, abroad), they were a constant companion in the shop windows and advertisements. And both my wife to be and me were absolutely taken with the Monaco. And certain that one day we would get one. Many years later I still very much appreciate the line but from when we could afford it it somehow never made it onto the list - not sure why. But still thoroughly enjoying seeing them - so special mention goes to Larry and to InDebtbutonTime for the shots of theirs:

I'm partial to Jags and Cartier...
...so I'd have gone with Larry's combo. And unless it's just reflected light I'd say that's a Green (British Racing Green?) leather strap on that Tank!

Hello dear friends! Here my Veredict for Best Static Shot category.
Static shots is my favorite category and we received some great shots during the weekend.
I awarded a Special Mention to:
Our Host KMII and his Chopard 8HZ Chronometer against a very realistic scale model car which looks so detailed and real that it made me doubt if it is a real car with a big scale watch specially made for display purposes.
Another Special Mention goes for Art/Dr. No and his superb Omega Railmaster reedition posed by his cute scale van with the livery of his favorite engine oil: Kendall Motor Oil.
Third place goes to HS111 and his signature post card composition of his charming JLC Memovox Parking against a scale model car:
Second Place goes to Watchonthewrists and his stunning composition of his pair of Amidas watches posed on his Mercedes wheel.
And First Place goes to Captain Scarlet and his great composition showing his classic Heuer Monaco displayed on the sport wheel of his classic car.
