Hello dear friends!
Serial: 24.9xx.xxx which according with information from the Omega Museum was manufactured on August 9, 1967 and subsequently delivered to USA.
The Speedmaster known as the 'CB Case' is rare because nearly all Cal. 321 Speedmaster cases were manufactured by the Omega case-maker, Huguenin Freres & Co, in Le Locle, Switzerland and thus signed "HF" inside the case-back.
It is said that only in 1966 with the reference 105.012 did Omega use an additional case-maker: “La Céntrale Boites” and hallmarked "CB" in the case-back.
These cases were only manufactured during a very short period of time and are extremely rare and they have a unique characteristic detail in their “lire” lugs:
lyre lugs on these cases have a flat edge at the top, making them easily recognizable compared to the standard lyre lug cases.
I’m very happy to add this rare Speedmaster variant after a so long hunting and specially considering the long travels this watch has made during its long adventurous life:
Originally shipped from Switzerland to the USA in 1967 it was located in Switzerland this year, shipped to Miami, USA again thanks to a good friend there and brought to me in Buenos Aires by my daughter. Many miles for sure to finally arrive to my collection!!
I enclose some pictures below. Thank you so much for your patience reading this long post!
Best cordial regards,
Abel
