The crown is out in the OP's pics, so it isn't necisarily not in working order. could be fine with all that is needed is a battery change :) If he does open the caseback it'd be nice to see the shot of the movement and which type it is [nt]

My pleasure :) Thank you for sharing your dad's timepiece with us, if you do get a chance to open the caseback, make sure to see if you can find the serial number, you can order the "Extract of the Archives" from Omega
Basically just the date of production and where it was shipped to, it's an expensive piece of paper (I think 120CHF last time I ordered) but its a nice treat to have along with your timepiece.

Better check to see the condition of the movement and make sure there’s no battery leakage.

I love it :D the Omega 1441 is probably the rarest of the Quartz pieces, if I remember correctly they produced them from 87-88 its about as good as you can get for an Omega Pre-Bond Quartz :D
