This is great information to know. I appreciate you taking time to respond. Nice pics of your cousin watch!

My pleasure :) Thank you for sharing your dad's timepiece with us, if you do get a chance to open the caseback, make sure to see if you can find the serial number, you can order the "Extract of the Archives" from Omega

Basically just the date of production and where it was shipped to, it's an expensive piece of paper (I think 120CHF last time I ordered) but its a nice treat to have along with your timepiece.

If it’s quartz and not ticking...

Better check to see the condition of the movement and make sure there’s no battery leakage.

The crown is out in the OP's pics, so it isn't necisarily not in working order. could be fine with all that is needed is a battery change :) If he does open the caseback it'd be nice to see the shot of the movement and which type it is [nt]

Now I have an assignment!

I had the battery replaced by a trusted watch repair company and it is running beautifully. However I will take it back to them to open the case back so I can photograph the movement and the case back to garner further information that you say is there. I will post those pics late tomorrow if possible.

Excellent!

Looking forward for your next post.
Good luck with your further hunting!
Great to hear the watch is ticking again.
Cheers

I posted the other pics in response to Art. Let me know your thoughts based on the new info. [nt]

Yours is just about the only 'dark ages' Omega . . .

. . . of personal interest, aside from various Speedmasters.  Just the right size, coherent aesthetics, and gratefully, no helium valve.

Nice one!

Omega 1441 ETA 255.561

Don’t know why this one came out upside down but black numbers say 50647529 and numbers on bottom say 396 1041

Pics of movement and case back-what does this info further say about the watch?

I love it :D the Omega 1441 is probably the rarest of the Quartz pieces, if I remember correctly they produced them from 87-88 its about as good as you can get for an Omega Pre-Bond Quartz :D

high end quartz, thermocompensated like cake with 2 cherries on top wink biggrin

Wow! Great to know! Whether it stays in the family or not, I love knowing all about vintage items-especially if it is as good as it gets for that item. It gives me great appreciation for the craftsmanship and the history. [nt]
