That's possible. Here's a photo . . .

 

. . . of the very same watch taken at least five years ago by the second owner . . .




. . . that clearly shows there hasn't been a change since then.  I had the watch serviced upon acquisition in '08, but the extant crystal (which has an etched ? symbol) was not replaced.  I managed to find an image of the dial at the watchmaker's bench after disassembly . . .

 



. . . which depicts the tone of the rose gold hands and markers.  If there was a gold tension ring originally, it would've been rose gold to match the furnishings of the dial.
