Extreme sport, extreme loss

 By: AT : February 5th, 2022-14:24
I wanted to get a watch to ski, swim and also kitesurf which is my favourite sport, having restarted my collection with Rolex, I thought would be nice to try Omega. Bought the James Bond Seamaster in Oct. and lost it kitesurfing in Costa Rica in Dec., I s...

I have fears after reading this.

 By: Cookies : February 5th, 2022-21:31
But i have a gripe when I see the silver buckle on the nato strap. The silver version uses a thin sliver as the prong as the buckle which may warp. Omega seamaster bracelets inspire the same fear. A lot of the modern ones are trigger released, without an ...

Enjoy!

So sorry to hear that.

Perhaps just a cheap plastic watch for this type of activity and keep the nice watch for the after ski.

Get a G SHOCK 😋

Good attitude 👍

They should be able

I am truly sorry to hear this.

I would have done the same. That bracelet is too tempting not to wear. How deep was the waters?

So sorry to hear, I’d probably be thinking through some James Cameron style project to find it w robot subs and grid patterns… I wonder if Omega might show some sympathy if they heard your story, after all it seems like you were basically a real-life omeg...

Yolo indeed!

Sorry to hear that

I applaud your bravery since I couldn't even risk a G-shock for wake boarding

Sorry to hear of the loss.

Yes, use a NATO strap when kiteboarding. A GShock is great too.

Hard to notice

Learn a lesson on such a painful happening is hard. From what i know from the credit-card company i am a customer, they insurance a purchase for 180 days, a year and more, depends on the type of card you use. It can be a lost, theft, damage, a not send pa...

Sorry to hear of the loss, that's

 By: Thomas_3 : February 5th, 2022-18:30
painful. But that is is exactly why I don't wear any of my watches during any sporting activities, too much risk, for me anyway. I freak out when I misplace one in the house, can't imagine losing one in the water. My dentist had a new Rolex GMT, wore it s...

Sorry to hear. :(

I actually just went to buy this same watch

 By: ripper444 : February 5th, 2022-22:34
After trying it on the bracelet clasp was just too thick and uncomfortable. Great looking watch though. Sorry for your loss hope it was insured.

Prime example as to why one should only buy watch/any luxury item well within one's means, as Tim Mosso often says. That way, if it disappears (regardless why), we are no worse off and...

at least can take pleasure in the time it was in our possession. No matter how much we love our objects, they may not be forever and memories may have to suffice despite the sadness of loss. If we are truly worse off for the monetary loss, it probably was...

100% agree

Well, if nothing else, you have a great story . . .

. . . to tell your grandchildren. 🌊

Ouch! That's very unfortunate!
