. . . and just got back to my computer.  If it's over $600 now, my advice would be to drop out.  In the event it's a refinished dial, you'd be likely to recover that honestly (i e, by acknowledging it's refinished) at that price level.  Above that, and you'll likely take a loss if you decide to part with it. 

Gotta say if it turns out to be redone, the person responsible did their homework.  And that's a frightening thought.
