Omega

My Omega SM 300 finally arrived...

Yes, after several complications with my order for one of these watches, my own SM 300 finally arrived middle past week, but I already had to wait till yesterday to be able to wear it on my wrist for the first time. It looked like the SM resisted to rest on my wrist, but it finally landed. The watch came with its original SS bracelet, which is the longest original bracelet I ever found in a new watch. I couldn´t find a suitable screwdriver in my meager arsenal of tools, so I had to wait till I could visit yesterday my friendly watchmaker to ask him to take some links off. (Also must say that my intents to remove the complete bracelet were a complete fracass too: never found such a stubborn couple of pins attaching it to the lugs!) At my watchmakers workshop, I realized that I didn´t like the looks of the bracelet (too shiny and heavy for my taste), and decided to take it off my watch completely and replace it with a suitable set of straps (a nice cordovan leather would be my ideal). Regretably I found no leather one of the required 21 mm wide size, so being at this point desperately wishing to wear my watch I installed a set of black Nato straps. I had explained here before, that I don´t like Nato´s. That is I don´t like how they look on my own wrist. I love it looks in the pictures I usually view here shown by our colleagues on their wrists, but when on my own wrist they look really bad to my taste. Anyway, that´s the only thing I found to be able to strap my SM 300 to my wrist, and here is the first picture I could take of her, taken in haste with my I Phone. Promise some better ones in a next post. Here it is, for the pure pleasure of sharing with my dear friends. Cordial regards, Abel.
