. . . with an independent watchmaker, not only because you're directly involved without intervening 'filters', but also because Omega has policies and procedures their service department has to comply with.
That said, there are incompetent watchmakers in private trade, and even the most assiduous can make errors. Movement parts availability shouldn't be an issue with your Speedmaster, but external parts might. Miki's suggestion is right on target: find a local watchmaker certified by Omega with a parts account. That would be the best route.
