I could use some advice from the Speedmaster experts.

I am not an expert on Omega Speedmasters, but I do own one that I purchased new from an authorized dealer in the mid-90’s. I have worn it occassionally over the years so other than a few hairline marks on the clasp it is in good shape.  Serial number is 4831xxxx range.  Bracelet is marked 821 on the end links. Dial markers have yellowed somewhat over the years and dial is marked ‘T SWISS MADE T’. This watch came with a display back with the Apollo markings.

I have the box and papers in storage somewhere to dig out as I don’t know the exact reference.

I took it out of the Bank safe today after about 10 years.  It runs and keeps time but needs servicing.  Is there a danger in sending it to Omega that the dial might be messed with like with Rolex?

Dave

Your level of control over the servicing process is higher . . .

. . . with an independent watchmaker, not only because you're directly involved without intervening 'filters', but also because Omega has policies and procedures their service department has to comply with. That said, there are incompetent watchmakers in ...
