While waiting for tomorrow, I saw this online....
What do you think about this one's dial?
It looks sooo good to be truly legit tho I admit, but I can't help drooling over this one....
Someone please save me....
......please pardon for the joke aside, I seriously considering of purchasing this piece, but as I said, it's almost too good to be legit (my intuition) but should I follow my gut feeling(that this is a blatant redial)?

I think about a redial too but a damn good one but then it is your money and the decision is yours. But if in doubt, don't buy it.

I see.... Seems that the hands were replaced...
And not sure about the lume tho.... Cuz it's stated no "T" on the bottom to indicate that it's not having lume on the dial (eventhough I'm not sure it's original tho haha)
tritium was introduced back in 1966 and this one is a 1953-1954 manufactured watch so that is normal that there is no T written on the dial
There should have been radium lume but it is gone, so perhaps it is the work of swiss time services or omega bienne who refinished it. But who ever did it, did a brilliant job
If you will buy it for yourself...
I.e. don't intend to sell it and don't care about the resale value, then go where your heart takes you. It is certainly very nice looking

Looks very nice, even if a redial. If you were to buy it would anyone on the street even know its a redial, most likely never notice, it would take a true "watch person" to notice and odds are slim and none they would notice. Again, nice watch!!

Cuz it's just too dang nice to be redial as well.... And too good to be legit for its age....
Now and then a piece is really well-cared for.
I'm no expert, and certainly not with Omega, but maybe it's original. Look how clean the movement appears. I have an 1899 Lange PW which looks like it was made a year ago-and it's confirmed all original.
That's the point where I was confused...
If the dial was that good but the movement got tons of this and that, I could straight away leave it... But this one was equipped with a very clean movement as well.... So... Thanks man for your input... Still 3 days away but I'll take your opinion in min...

Perhaps it's possible that it was serviced back in the Omega Bienne
If that's so, then possibly that's the case because I've seen watches sent to be serviced there and comes up looks like new (change/refurbish the dial, the hands were kept in place, restored movement, manufacturer standard polishing, and new caseback gask...

If and when your buddy gets it, ask him for a photo . . .
. . . of the back of the dial. That could help settle the matter. I could find no technical issue with the dial (or hands or crown) - it was simply the unlikelihood of it surviving six decades without a hint of aging that unnerved me. Best, Art

It's true about what you said, for that amount I'll start looking for an omega marine (saw some in considerable condition, dang I missed the opportunity) or a very nice gold constellation, or a seamaster with rotating bezel(saw some around the same price)...

I'd be grateful for a link tontut auction as I just might make one. I've been looking for something like that and wouldn't care, if it necessarily wasn't 100% kosher... I just like the look of it.
