Best

By: Esharp : January 31st, 2021-01:01
Thanks to everyone who commented in my thread below and for the PMs (you know who you are!) - after a bit of thought and a conversation with the seller during which we quickly reached mutual agreement, the rose gold 1894 Hommage has come home with me... T...
That's awesome

I know you don't follow the herd. ;-)
That’s very kind, my friend

I am not cool enough for the herd...and I don’t think they’d want me to try to join! But you understand that - I know we come from the same perspective... Best E.

An 1894 Homage, a limited edition of 1894 pieces in rose gold for Omega’s hundredth year, produced in 1994. There were also a few other versions, some for the Japan market only, and some (all?) of those versions were only 100 pieces. They use calibre 269 ...
I would not only consider 1894s to be rare, but also . . .

. . . a kind of 'missing link' between the Golden Age of Omega and The Resurrection that occurred with the advent of in-house movements designed around Daniel's co-axial escapement. There was a 'Dark Ages' of sorts for Omega that lasted practically a quar...
Thank you for this!

Art once again graces us with more knowledge than we had, and a lovely perspective too. “The last vintage Omega ever”...that’s beautiful! Thank you sir. And hope to see yours soon as well... Best E.
Some would say the Watchco SM 300s and SHOM's . . .
By: Dr No : February 2nd, 2021-16:06
. . . were the last vintage Omegas, and they would have a point. There's also at least one current independent watchmaker that recycles vintage Omega movements, albeit enhanced. But there's another series production watch that could lay claim to the title...

What is this, a watch strip-tease? Turn it around! Take off the cover! Show us everything, baby! (Congrats, Art. Can’t wait to see.) Best E.

. . . under less-than-optimal lighting conditions: Now to get her to my watchmaker for some long-overdue attention . . . ...
That’s stunning, Art

Sorry to hear it needs a bit of TLC...but boy is it handsome! Best E.
I've wanted an Homage ever since seeing Steve G's . . .
By: Dr No : February 17th, 2021-03:50
. . . but stopped looking a long time ago as they never came up at an affordable price. Your thread prompted me to search for the first time in years. So in a sense, I have you to thank for finally snagging this elusive prey. Gratefully, Art
