Would Panerai ever make a vintage homage?
So -they are already partly there with the e type aged steel. I am talking about a faded worn looking dial and numerals and coroded hands to complete the look!

I doubt they will, but there’s always the 232.
It’s about as close as you can get without the patina. I’m sure you can find someone who can customize the dial and hands to look old and beat up. ...

That first ding or scratch is a heart-stopper, but it is mine nonetheless. I own it. It is indelible record of my journey with the watch. To be clear, I’m not against faux patina lume, an aged surface treatment or dial fade. To each their own!!
I once considered acquiring an IWC Big Pilot
But figured why an homage if I could get the original, patina, dents and all! ...
Just me but I view something that has aged naturally through time very differently to something that is made to look aged.
Obviously everyone is entitled to their own taste and opinion but I am not a fan in general of faked aging. Marc

radium is a banned substance. That being said, the 232, 249 and others are...already...homages to the vintage models.
