Huuuuge topic. I am sure Sergio will chime in... To make it short...

1/ Panerai had a lot of fans in the early 2000's, the vintage and the pre vendome pieces were very hot, sought after, and people was fighting to get one, even the early Vendome pieces, since around 2005, let's say.
2/ From the mid 2000's to nowadays, two things:
- The brand cheated with its fans on some pieces such as the OOR ( Out of Range, which means a short batch of the same limited edition: See the PAM 127, which had in addition to the limited edition in 2002, another batch of xx pieces in 2004 or 2005 ).
- The brand turned around the concept of historic pieces with less or more success...
3/ On the other side, they released, from time to time, some exciting references, such as the 372, the 587, the 673, the 662... To mention a few of them.
So yes, the market is not the same. More pieces, some of them being some of the same, turning around the original concept... With different fans, maybe, also.
Best,
Nicolas
