And in this case the celebrity connection goes beyond just the wearing / owning of the watch, Stallone is part of modern Panerai history.
And then, it's pure Panerai in terms of it being a "base". The purest / strongest of designs, unmistakable.

he bought a piece of movie memorabilia, which transcends the object itself. IMO
We’ll not know for sure unless we find out who purchased the watch but I would tend to think this is not the case.
