the 005 is nice too but man, what a difference.
If the 390 came out at SIHH 2011 or next year 2012 I think it would be the watch of the year !
strange they kept this secret and strange they don't show it to the big public. How many guys do read and post on watchforums ? Probably less than 10% . 90% loves and buys watches too but they don't go on the net to find out news. I know more than 1 guy with 1 or more nice watches that NEVER reads these forums. Why did these guys never get the chance to see and order a 390 ? Once they will see then on somebody's wrist they'll ask for one at the AD, and that AD won't be able to help him. The AD will want to try at the boutique ...but it will be to late, no chance for a less informed Panerai collector

All I can say is I was lucky to be sitting where I was hint hint. This watch lends it self to the vintage feel but then again all Panerai watches have that in their DNA. Best Bill

The strap. Thinner is always an option. I wanted to put this one as I waited two years for Piotre to make it. The color and no stitch combo helps to feature the watch a lot like the nato straps make the watch head pop. I will search through the other comb...

My brain reason this way
Tritium cannot be used anymore, so natural ageing cannot happen with luminova. Rolex have blue luminova, so why not luminova that have the hue of aged tritium ? Even for vintage watches with tritium, it turns brown when kept from sunlight and tritium gets...

I would not go so far as to call the patina fake more of an aesthetic choice. As dreamer8 noted it rather difficult to reproduce the patina naturally without the ingredients. But tastefully done with quality products it is a personal choice as to whether ...

I am trying really hard to resist as I have spent too much this year but it appears resistence if futile! I like the look of the faux patina with a nice ammo or PAV strap. Here is my 416 on Ammo...now this would look sweet with the 390...OH Cccchhhhaaddd!...

Really like your 416 in general and on that strap. IMO the 416 and the 390 are too similar, you definitely only need one of them. Then again, for some odd reason I want them both too!
