Yes, baffling is correct!
There’s still a pervasive bias against Montblanc because they are just a “pen company”. That combined with the fact that they don’t really do any real marketing of their Villeret pieces leaves the watches strangely undervalued. Good for collectors if you’re looking to acquire one, though.
Not sure what the story was on this particular watch, and can’t imagine how it ended up at the outlet, but I’m glad it found its way to my wrist.

I wasn’t sure about the strap at first, either, but with a little fiddling around I sorted it out. And yes, the guilloche work is really gorgeous. Maybe one day you’ll have a chance at another one!

I’m really surprised you found this at a Montblanc Outlet? I can see it lingering around a boutique but not a Villeret piece at an outlet. You must have got a screaming deal on this ☝️ congrats again.

as I have got 8/8 I was wondering
how they distributed the black and silver dials. I have heard that 1-4/8 are black and 5-8/8 silver. Can you confirm that theory?
Mine is 3/8, so I guess that theory doesn’t hold up.
Perhaps they took a more random approach towards distributing the dial colors?

Montblanc rarely designs such models. The last time Montblanc surprised me was the 1858 iced sea. I think this one will surpass that one in my heart. Beautiful watch, congratulations on getting this gem!
