I was very smitten with this. I love the movement and what’s hard to fully appreciate is how well done that guilloche work is. I love the RaZ as a movement function as well with the large center seconds. I was offered one of these in the last few years (maybe this one?) and I loved it on the wrist but didn’t like the strap mechanism. I must admit, I never thought you could just attach a strap on the standard configuration like you did. I think I was thrown off by the lug opening mechanism. I probably would have ended up with it if I thought that !

I wasn’t sure about the strap at first, either, but with a little fiddling around I sorted it out. And yes, the guilloche work is really gorgeous. Maybe one day you’ll have a chance at another one!

I’m really surprised you found this at a Montblanc Outlet? I can see it lingering around a boutique but not a Villeret piece at an outlet. You must have got a screaming deal on this ☝️ congrats again.

Congratulations! It always baffles me why Montblanc watches made by Minerva need to be discounted because their workmanship is second to none. Surely the Montblanc name does not devalue a watch to that extent! And the fact your watch remained unsold 16 ye...

There’s still a pervasive bias against Montblanc because they are just a “pen company”. That combined with the fact that they don’t really do any real marketing of their Villeret pieces leaves the watches strangely undervalued. Good for collectors if you’...

as I have got 8/8 I was wondering
how they distributed the black and silver dials. I have heard that 1-4/8 are black and 5-8/8 silver. Can you confirm that theory?
Mine is 3/8, so I guess that theory doesn’t hold up.
Perhaps they took a more random approach towards distributing the dial colors?

Montblanc rarely designs such models. The last time Montblanc surprised me was the 1858 iced sea. I think this one will surpass that one in my heart. Beautiful watch, congratulations on getting this gem!

Ive enjoyed many of their newer releases, but I have a soft spot for these watches from the early days of Montblanc’s ownership of Minerva.
