They can't even put it back in the correct box?
The whole point of double boxing the watch is for the protection. To include a second box and not utilize it is a failure beyond comprehension.
Now, I wonder... Is Vacheron Constantin this bad? They also go through the Richemont center in Dallas, Texas...
Makes me completely lose confidence of not only Montblanc, but makes me worry on all the Richemont brands. At least I can bring a Lange to Mr. Alkis in NYC. Complicated Patek, I can drop off in NYC in person, everyone has to go to NYC now and then; non-complicated I can drop off with a local Patek Philippe certified watchmaker. Rolex, there's a service facility in San Francisco. But I can't fly to Villeret...
One of the reason why I don't do business with a certain car brand anymore... This German luxury car brand A makes better cars, smoother cars, quieter cars, than the current brand I drive today. But the car was problematic (which I don't mind) but the dealership personnel servicing the car were even more problematic. I had an airbag light come on, took it to the dealer, came back with a gigantic estimate. So I called the manufacture to complain and they insisted I didn't go into the dealer. I said of course I did, unless there are fake dealerships; then a corporate manager came on the phone and said that the dealer should see in their computer system that the car is eligible for a recall for my very problem. I took it back to said dealer and informed them of what I learned and the work was completed. So I've returned to my original other German luxury car brand B where the car has a bit more body lean, despite a much firmer suspension (firmer than a Lamborghini Huracan with magnetic suspension). BUT, I've been with the same service advisor at the same dealership for 15+ years and we have an excellent working relationship.
Sometimes the costs of doing business is just too much. And for a luxury goods purchase that you don't need, I totally understand that you'd rather do without the trouble.
I feel sorry for Montblanc. Imagine the hundreds of timepiece sales they've lost due to their servicing issues.
