Why shop at a Boutique?
Sep 26, 2020,02:48 AM
Sad news for the staff and for watch afficionados.
I like a lot of the current JLC offering. I enjoy the timeless elegance of their simpler designs, and their price points seem very fair. The Master Ultra Thin and Master redesigns over the past couple of years seems to have been well-received. Their Polaris range seems to be selling well, and I love their Reverso Tribute designs.
However, I struggle to justify purchasing watches from the Boutique at full retail when many of the watches seem readily available elsewhere with significant discounts. I recently purchased a timepiece from one of their Boutiques and found no incentive to do so again. No discounts available at all. No replacement strap thrown in. Absolutely nothing. I travelled to my nearest Boutique having already decided which timepiece I wanted to purchase. Next time, it would be more convenient to do so online.
It would be interesting to know if e-Boutique sales are booming whilst brick and mortar Boutiques are struggling, or if the lack of incentives are driving customers to third party retailers.
