First off, I respect everyone’s opinion since tastes differ as it should(variety is key).
For long I observed this inexplicable phenomenon of criticism of newly relised watches that exists for decades, while after discontinuation they become darlings! Just food for thought…
Now on the duometre.
This was never my favorite line due to the foudroyant function which is an erratic nervrecking action to my eyes, not a stable constant as a tourbillon, so this by itself is a disqualifier
Moving on to the case, the previous model was way to similar to the Lange cases, so there was nothing unique per say, while the recent one at least it has JLC lineage, a bit more curved, more soft compared to the previous cases, yes, the size it’s an unwelcome addition from my side as well, but I also like the new more classical crown to the old one.
Now to the movement, sure it comes down to preference, but we all know the advantage of brass vs the maillechort plus again I like the shine of brass much better than the opposite “dirty” look.
Open dial vs closed dial, I also prefer the closed dial, since here, there’s not much to see, however it does make the watch more fun(smiling) and also horologically more sophisticated.
I had the opportunity to try on the RG model and aside the price, the size and being color metal, I quite like it!
So there you have it my good friend, this is my take and my less than two cents….🥂
