Jaeger-LeCoultre

I find the new case much nicer and balanced

To me they are a very welcome refresh to the Duometre line.

Some people were missing the discontinued original Duometres.  They have launched a new one, with (IMO) a better / slimmer case visually, more elegant.

The case thickness should not be compared directly with the former in mm. The new one is visually much slimmer as 3mm of the thickness are purely in the domed crystal. While the case band of the original was straight an massive, with almost no bezels and flat crystal, the new one is definitely slimmer, with both front and back chamfered bezels tooo.

The abandon of German silver is I believe a good choice since german silver gets a lot of patina quickly ( I would say too much in a short time) so it can be a quality issue.

As for the movements not being not new enough, well, not everything has to be new always, especially things like the duometre which defined a new identity in modern movement design.

As for the price, yes, it is expensive. That's the way things are in high horology these days, and that's probably the only complaint I agree with you.

Overall : nice line, nice watches, well done
