To me it is one of the prettiest watches released in 2008
but I cant help but be disappointed. The 896 movement that powers this is meant to be a sub-seconds version of the 899 found in the Master Control sans date. It ends up being an even thicker movement (3.9mm vs 3.3mm) even though it is called an Ultra Thin?!?
I don't really get the GUT. It is so pretty yet so disappointing. For the price range, I'd rather the Chopard MkIII or the Blancpain Villeret. Both manage to have automatic movements that are thinner and have longer power reserves (and have a date complication - if that is important to you). Serious let down by JLC :-(

And the PG version is gorgeous ! In fact, i was a bit disappointed by the SS version, I thought it was a bit too "quiet". I didn't feel any emotion on my wrist. That's not the case of the PG version. The ivory dial, the PG case bring a very classy atmosph...

I saw both new MUT and Grand MUT... Several times the protos, and lmately the production watches. I can tell you that both are gorgeous. I like a lot the dial of the Grande MUT, with its sunning elegance, and perfect symmetry. The small second is verty fi...
