Has anyone seen the production model in the metal yet? If there are any new owners out there, please post pictures. I am eager to see this new beauty
I noticed that Jaeger-LeCoultre recently updated their website to include the new Ultra Thin collection.

"My only concern is that I would have prefered an handwind caliber" - the good news is there is a manual version as well
The JLC communication is not entirely clear but dropping by the Paris boutique the other day cleared everything:
There are in total three versions of the "M.U.T."
- the old version, manual around 34mm
- the new automatic at 40mm with small seconds hand
- and the new manual at 38mm without seconds hand
I asked why the movement was so much smaller than the case and apart from the ovious (same movement as the old version), their answer was that given the thinness of the movement, it could not be too wide for structural rigidity reasons.
I hope this helps. I friend of mine got the last version mentioned for his wedding and I am eager to try it on. Both steel and gold are wonderful and apart from the budget, I would have a tough time choosing.

I have to agree with you: the SS version was a bit of a let down when I saw it. Something about the lack of contrast between the silver coloured hands and the silver coloured dial made it look a bit bland in my opinion. I would love to see the PG version, though: from the pictures I've seen, the gold hands / cream dial match to a perfection.
My wife's comments were interesting when I tried the SS version. She thought it was too big on my wrist for a dress watch. So I'm back to square one in my quest for a dress watch for my 40th birthday (still have 13 months to go so no panic here): maybe a WG Patek Calatrava in 38mm, although the more I see the SS JLC Master Control Reserve de Marche, the more I like it.
Bonnes fetes.

I saw both new MUT and Grand MUT...
Several times the protos, and lmately the production watches.
I can tell you that both are gorgeous.
I like a lot the dial of the Grande MUT, with its sunning elegance, and perfect symmetry.
The small second is verty fine, and this watch " smells " Quality ".
But, as Clavi and other said here, it is not anymore an Ultra Thin, but a Thin watch.
If I have to compare both movements, I mean the MUT Manual and the Grande MUT Automatic, I'd say that I prefer the MUT Manual, for its better finish.
It is my own preference, indeed, but at the end, it's up to you to decide, and in both cases, you won't go wrong with these 2 Beauties.
Hope this will help you in your decision.
Please, let us know the way you're thinking, and your final decision!
Best.

As always the wrist Test is the best.
Let us know, please.
Best.

Thank you. I like getting all kinds of feedback... even the disappointed views. Maybe it's best I consider the Grande Ultra Thin as a nice, elegant dress watch, rather than a true ultra thin movement as you and Nicolas have expresed. Best wishes,
Of course, the GUT would be better called Grande Thin than Ultra thin.
I totally agree with you on this point.
BUT, seeing it in the flesh is a pleasure, and putting it on your wrist is even better.
This GUT ( or GT..) is a very elegant thin watch, IMO.
Because of the movement, I would prefer the MUT, but to each his own, and the GT amy be a nice alternative for those who don't want to wind everyday their watch.
Best, and thank for your input.
Nicolas
Will try to post pics soon!
