We wanted new releases every year almost like FMCG -We commoditized it. The manufacturers responded by making fewer limited edition ( higher design innovation costs==higher prices )so they do not have to sit on inventory but then get to release something new in these small nos every year. This way there is enough demand to hold prices. The manufacturers obv get the same cheese while we get anxiety about what to buy/sell every year with every new release. Btw the dealers win too as their base and spreads widen - all by our own doing .
