Taken at the Manufacture, one week ago, with natural light, I mean without flash. Austere, compared to the Tributes, the Universal Time or the Tourbillon Universal Time, but not lacking charm. If only it name was different... Best, Nicolas. ...  

Whilst I would love to own a Geophysic this particular model looks to me very ordinary and uninspiring. Regards Kev.

At one point, I really see it as a near-perfect dress watch for my taste. Interesting "complication" alternative to say the basic Master Control or MUT Moon, and a very coherent and appealing design. My only gripe are as follows: 1. Maybe its a little too...

I've seen my 1958 in RG and the true second in RG side by side and there is no way, I'd exchange them. If I'd buy a JLC with the "true second", it would be the universal time. And if I want a very simple automatic watch with a simple date, I prefer my Nom... 

It's not an ugly or bad watch, but it also has no valid USP for me. If I buy a watch or not is always a matter of comparison for me. There are so many interesting watches on the market, that it's not enough to just be a nice watch. It has to be better tha... 

But the universal time is close. This plain dead second reminds me of Nomos, which I love, and the Nomos are prettier.

After, it will be a matter of taste. Simple or more elaborated dial? But I get your point. Best, Nicolas

The steel true second looks much better in person, but I was never able to commit to a purchase. I remain hopeful that JLC will be able to evolve this watch into something more and better in the near future. M

we are ticking and waiting and ticking

I like the Geophysic TS. A bit plain. A bit too thick (by 1-2 mm, which would make a huge difference in wearing comfort). And the date: not my preference. But overall a cool watch--like a scientific instrument in a way with its seconde morte complication,... 

Also no sweep second like on other automatics and no screw down crown. If it was fitted with an imporved cal 889 and 100 hour power reserve then I would have gone for it.

It is interesting to read here what people think, all remarks are good to take. In my eyes, yes it is austere but as austere as the master ultra thin can be for example. The only thing I would blame on this watch is it's water resistance which should real... 

But the watch is awesome. A real connoisseurs' watch. A "real" JLC. I only wish there was no date window.

especially thinking about it like a 2000'son watch: I well know that the past offers a lot of elements for various comparison, but, in its way, this is a very cool instrument. A great movement, a design perfect for the daily wear. If I'm not distressed to...

And if you ask me, I say the main attractivness of this watch lies precisely in its "plain-ness".

But with my glasses on, many intersting details can be seen: - the texture of the comparatively thick dial, - the case shape/profile combined with the aggressive horns, - the brushed middle case band, - indeces whose surface is actually "fluted", or guill... 

I really think JLC made a big mistake in calling this family of watches " Geophysic ". The result is that the name is being used on watches which have no relation to the original Geophysic which rather devalues a historic name. I'm surprised that JLC with... 

I don't think that this new family devalues the historical name, or the historical model. The original E 168 Geophysic has its own life. You gave me a good idea I will use when I am back home, though, about the original model. THANK YOU. Best, Nicolas
