Marrying it with digital would take away its appeal. I think the younger generation WILL see the appeal the more everything is digital/computerized tech Digital/computerized has no soul to many of us.

These days your phone, car, headphones, even sunglasses and ring can require constant charging. A mechanical watch is set it and forget it as long as you wear or wind it.

I think that's important if you want to attract the new generation, who are basically obsessed with social media. Mechanical on the back, digital on the front. JLC has everything needed to create a new dial, nothing too weird. Or perhaps they should break...

Reminds me of the motorcycle industry, which has been on a similar trip for decades now 🤷🏻‍♂️

The development is much more advanced, unfortunately 🤷🏻‍♂️ The watch industry is following with at least 2 decades delay and has a key advantage - there is no need to acquire a license or pass a test, which is largely only done before people turn 30 😉 ... 

I am not an expert, my observation is that in the high end, volumes have gone down/prices have gone way way up

The higher the disposable income and the stiffer the hips 😂 Hence a swing from sporty and fast to more cruiser like and more expensive over the past decades…

Seems like a lot of trouble to go to just to minimize the attraction of a purely mechanical watch but maybe JLC is desperate to expand sales

Here in the UK there is quite a lot of talk of younger people wanting a digital detox and appreciating physical products, e.g. there has been a surge in people buying vinyl, CD’s and books. If that approach continues there is plenty of reason to hope for ...
