I think it’s a cohort effect and they might very well not follow 🤷🏻♂️

I think the charm of mechanical watches is that it IS old world tech.
Marrying it with digital would take away its appeal.
I think the younger generation WILL see the appeal the more everything is digital/computerized tech
Digital/computerized has no soul to many of us.
I like how mechanical watches are one of the only things that don’t require constant charging.
These days your phone, car, headphones, even sunglasses and ring can require constant charging. A mechanical watch is set it and forget it as long as you wear or wind it.
Good Point, maybe Solar or dual micro rotors, one for the watch and a second to "charge up" the electronic side
A mechanical watch does not necessarily have to look 'old'.
I think that's important if you want to attract the new generation, who are basically obsessed with social media.
Mechanical on the back, digital on the front.
JLC has everything needed to create a new dial, nothing too weird.
Or perhaps they should break every rule eventually.
They used to have some innovative dials, some 20 years ago... See the Extreme Labs, for example.

If JLC could make a mechanically winding (ideally automatic) watch with all the health features in a digital display on one side and the mechanical watch on the other it might be cool. But possibly better suited to another brand 🤷🏻♂️
The larger question of how watch brands remain relevant in a world where the customer base might well die out from age over the next 40-50 years is a super exciting topic IMHO 👌🏻👍🏻

The development is much more advanced, unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️ The watch industry is following with at least 2 decades delay and has a key advantage - there is no need to acquire a license or pass a test, which is largely only done before people turn 30 😉

I am not an expert, my observation is that in the high end, volumes have gone down/prices have gone way way up
