The new one in white dial - the date window is finished all wrong. Looks messy. And it's too close to the centre of the dial.
The new one in black dial - better date window surround and I prefer the Dauphine hands. But it is still too close to the centre of the dial.
And in both cases (ha ha) the case is too heavy.
The old one - I never felt the need to say it is automatic. But the proportions were much better, and the date wheel was the right width, so the date lined up with where a '3' would have otherwise been placed.
Yes please - JLC, give us an update - make the new quintessential gentleman's watch, without any of these glaring (to us idiots, at least!) foibles. Make it available on a bracelet. And I'll buy it.

I would agree on the case
This has everything going for it, from a nice size and the simplicity that has a lot of balance. The case is dated and needs a refresh. This was the same thing some purists and I were discussing when viewing both these versions earlier this week at a JLC ...
The solution is not difficult to find. Take a MUT 38, 39 or 40...

A really, really nice watch
Sooner or later I will definitely pull a trigger on this one - just so nicely understated, simple, yet wonderfully executed. If one was forced down to only one watch, one could do a lot worse than limiting yourself to this :)

It is a combination I do not have so far and to be honest, if I was to go for black, I would probably take the Moon Version.

and this is what I have, other than I do have the steel bracelet also. Just wish they could improve the power reserve on mine which has finally forced me into a different daily wearer.
