And I get expelled here probably soon enough but based on the other comments:
Buy the watch that attracts you visually the most. I'm not sure if a criteria for your purchase decision is the story of "handmade" or "artisanal honesty" behind those watches, but if they are, please go buy another watch.
- RR tells blatantly everyone that his watch is "not 100% but probably 99%" made in-house by him/themselves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgg6Q6mrKCg&t=583s
Same BS he told me when I was visiting until I asked on which machines and he scrambled to convince me that they do it on the one lathe in their shop.
- RWS still tells people that his watches are handmade and only his case for (water proofing reasons) is in the end machined by CNC. When I last visited they were setting up a massive CNC lathe and second CNC, so unless he likes to produce CNC parts for another hobby of his...handmade is BS in that case.
I guess I get flamed for this comment again because it feels like emotions are nowadays more relevant than facts or truth. If you like RR finishing or RWS style and you don't care about the facts, no shame there, go for the watch that attracts you the most. At least with RR, I'm pretty sure that the bubble will sooner or later burst. Same as with many other brands that, even in the early days of their work, were focussed on making money, while pretending it would be all about the art.
