Independents

go for it

watches have not changed that much in the last few hundred years, lets face it the tourbillon was invented in 1795.

A simple watch, whether made by eta or MOser should be able to be looked after by a good watch maker, even more complicated ones should not be beyond a talented individual.

Of course when things wear out problems can start, but how long before parts need replacing - 20, 30, 40 years?
And if an independent did go out of buisness another will by the tooling etc so parts can still be made.

So i wouldnt worry. An expensive watch is like an expensive car - it will be more expensive to maintain than a cheap one but i dont think servising a Moser will be more than an equivalent Patek
