Me too "was" just interested in the simple- time -only watches. I love the simplicity that would never go out of style. I loved the mechanism and care that went into showcasing just the simple hour and minutes.

Then, after my lustered purchase of pp 5320, the pandora box opened up. This journey is incessant my friend.

"The Waiting Is the Hardest Part" – Part II

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-17:26
Please follow the link for Part I of this journey. 4 months. A mere 4 months. That is the short period of time that has elapsed since I posted Part I of this journey - thereby commencing Part II. Part II... well, this is the leg that will last. Part II is...

Well, I think that the movement choices will ultimately be dependent on the case metal.

Under any circumstance, I am leaning towards the frosted finish.

insert sound of jaw dropping

The English word "WOW" does not fully capture how amazing that timepiece is. Perhaps some things transcend mere words?

I'll be honest, I had that same reaction!

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-18:25
And still have it!

I go back and forth.

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-18:27
The RG and blue is spectacularly dramatic and beautiful. But platinum and salmon just screams "special" to me - and I think it will be special in the metal. I think the blue makes more poetic sense, it being a reflection of the night sky. The only downsid...

Go for the salmon, then.

You really cannot go wrong with any Kari..

 By: jp884 : April 14th, 2022-17:49
Although I have to say I really like the RG and Blue dial. That just has so much charm. I cannot imagine doing bespoke clothes. Fortunately, its scrubs for work and Kohls sweatshirts and Lulu pants for me (easy, simple and comfy).

Yes, I agree, the RG and blue does ooze charm.

Bespoke clothing is a labor of love. It motivates me to stay in shape, which is nice .

True! ! (nt)

NT

Wow.

 By: Cozmopak : April 14th, 2022-17:52
Superb. I personally prefer the Roman numerals here.

I'm not a roman guy AT ALL!

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-18:28
But I agree, the roman numerals here are lovely. The entire dial feels charmingly antiquated.

I'm not either.

 By: Cozmopak : April 14th, 2022-18:49
But here, it works beautifully, in my opinion.

Gorgeous...

 By: patrick_y : April 14th, 2022-18:10
Kari's creations are always quite special!

Thanks, and I agree! I've been a fan of Kari's work for years.

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-18:29
I've been reading his book, and it, too, is very interesting. My wife makes fun of me for reading picture books now .

Tell her, a picture is a thousand words!

 By: patrick_y : April 14th, 2022-18:37
Tell her you're speed reading! You can read a thousand words in the one minute it takes for you to enjoy a photo!

Both great!

 By: NautNut : April 14th, 2022-18:23
Congrats and enjoy whichever way you decide!

I think KV watches are awesome...

 By: mdg : April 14th, 2022-18:23
...but his Roman numerals are incredibly awkward in my opinion. I would prefer to see then 'unflipped' and curved to match the edge of the dial. Chopard (among others) does a really good job with this. Credit: Watch Club ...

Very interesting.

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-19:33
I'll have to think about the flipped v. unflipped. That is something I had not considered.

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition : )

 By: mdg : April 14th, 2022-21:03
...the details of dial design are usually glossed over, even by manufacturers. Good thing I'm OCD when it comes to that sort of thing...

Picture number 3 it is for me

 By: Geo : April 14th, 2022-18:26
But the choice is difficult since, as was mentioned already, you can't go wrong with any Kari. GEO

Are you talking about the salmon with guilloche, or the RG and blue?

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-18:30
Either one is sublime, in my opinion!

This is the tip top of watchmaking

 By: TeutonicCarFan : April 14th, 2022-18:51
I say... both the platinum and salmon with Roman's and the RG and blue 😂

How about this...

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-19:34
Why don't you talk to my wife, and get her thoughts on that proposition! I have a feeling you will not love her response!

Well

 By: TeutonicCarFan : April 15th, 2022-09:59
Mine doesn't listen to me...so can't help you! If one, platinum and salmon. But no wrong choice!

Am almost embarrassed to say I've been staring at the blue dial for a few minutes while taking in all the details.

 By: enjoythemusic : April 14th, 2022-20:01
Does that make me a bit, um, 'strange'? Please forgive me, 😊

Beautiful options.

 By: matto1 : April 14th, 2022-20:25
Had not seen the cosmic (?) dial, wow. I'm also in the KV waiting queue. Was initially leaning towards the romans, but am really liking the clean look of the arabics. Either way, some things are worth waiting for!

What do you have on order??

 By: JoshTheCanadian : April 14th, 2022-21:22
Yes, the cosmic dial is just gorgeous!

Vingt-8

 By: matto1 : April 14th, 2022-22:12

Absolutely amazing iterations here!

 By: Mike H : April 14th, 2022-22:07
They ALL look fantastic and I personally love the blue one (reminds me my ex) but I even prefer the salmon platinum combination, it's a killer combo!

congratulations and thank you for sharing the journey. It was fun to read and relatable.

I am a sucker for Salmon dials

 By: Watchonthewrists : April 15th, 2022-07:08
But both are stunning KVs

I love the last one but with Arabic numerals

 By: Poky : April 15th, 2022-14:53
I think the Roman numerals make the dial too busy. Then again, I have never been a fan of Roman numerals on a dial.

A brief update...

The greatest difficulty associated with a multi-year waitlist - temptations. In that way, it is not dissimilar to a long-distance relationship. I have not been tempted by another brand, which is a relief, because that is a sure-fire way to know that you m...
