I prefer titanium's soft grey color versus the hard white of SS. 
Brass/bronze gives a warmer note than SS or titanium without the bling impact of yellow or rose gold. 
Black gives a serious tool look, whether as a coating or ceramic. 
I have a disproportionate number of titanium watches because I prefer that look. Like you, I used to shun yellow gold watches but now I have 5-6 of them.
