Zaha Hadid happens to be my favorite architect of all time. She miraculously and uniquely managed to 'marry' classical and modern minimalist design to a frighteningly original extent. She had the daring and audacity of Frank Gehry but created much more universally loved and admired architecture than he has ever managed. Even to me, being highly accustomed to Gehry's designs in L.A., half of them are wonderful (i.e. WDCH), and the other half somewhere between very questionable and plain bad.... That ship-like (and diamond-like, I agree!) Port Authority building in Antwerp is a minor miracle of cutting edge architecture. May she rest in thoroughly deserved peace.... Thanks for the post Patrick, cheers, Filip
