Watches are influenced by the world we live in - designers are humans who absorb what they see and like from the world they live in. Personally I very much like Bauhaus-inspired and minimalist design. It is never out of fashion - you can't go wrong with it. And I do not refer only to watches but design in general: architecture, interior design, cars and other things.

It’s a matter of taste, but I much prefer uncluttered minimalism.
In the examples you’ve shown they are understated, create more space and allow the areas to breathe. My only exception would be a wine cellar. Keep that jammed to the ceiling Best,

Um, you should see my guest bedroom. There's an air conditioner, and wood boxes stacked very high and Lalique decanters precariously balanced on top. If we had an earthquake - I shudder to think! The wine fridge is obviously too full, many times over.
I love this use for a guest room.
And what an amazing excuse why an in-law can’t sleepover.
Oh, forgot to mention...
