His hotels have an architectural quality, as do some of his clothes and suits. A modern almost science fiction quality in some collections. His hotels - the one in Milano - is simple, clean, and sleek, with wide hallways with clean walls, showing little more than nice lighting on the sides highlighting marble wainscoting on the side walls. It's not overly sumptuous. And despite how cold marble can be and feel - the warm hued lighting and cream colored furniture and rugs, does give the room a warmer feel. It's nice. Not over the top. But very comfortable. Reminds me of nice hotels in Japan which are minimalist but with beautiful fabrics and lots of limestone or marble elements. On another note, I didn't realize that the Atmos was inspired by Mies Van Der Rohe, although now I totally see it - it's a clock in a glass box. And I do think of Mies Van Der Rohe when I think of glass boxes.
