Horological Meandering

Ahh. I didn't take any photos. But the one in Milano is pretty cool.

It's got a very soothing vibe.  Some taupe colored leather on the walls.  Nothing is very ostentatious, but if you look carefully, it's all very high quality materials - but it just doesn't scream it due to the understated design.  But it's calming.  Nothing stimulating.  The Patek Philippe salon in Geneva has this room with leather wallpaper with gold leaf floral patterns in it - that's extremely beautiful and very stimulating - it's showing the triumph of beautiful traditional ornate design.  This Armani hotel is minimalist and calming.  The exterior is older looking but the upper floors look like an addition - and those look very modern.  It doesn't look as good as Zaha Hadid's building in Antwerp (the upper portion resembles a glass ship), but the Armani Milano hotel has a half older building, upper half newer glass building look on the outside.

Look at that! Too bad Zaha Hadid passed away before this Port Authority Customs building in Antwerp, Belgium was complete. Some people complained that this building in Antwerp was an unnecessarily extravagant design - since it cost multiple times more than a normal building of similar size would cost. But a boring building would just not be as cool as this one.  Antwerp is also a diamond trading capital, and the glass reminds me of diamonds too.
