Wondering why this collab from Peter Speake and Frederique Constant isn’t generating more heat yet
Jun 27, 2022,21:23 PM
I happen to think this is the most amazing looking perpetual calendar this year has seen by far. And all under 10k, and a collab by one of the watchmaking legends (imho).
Maybe it’s too hot outside for watch news to generate any heat. 😊☀️🔥🤔 Anyways, a great looking version of a watch that already broke the boundaries before. Gongrats to anyone who manages to get one.
(The two pics are from worn & wound and from Frederique Constant website)

I think Frédérique Constant is definitely getting the better exposure with this collaboration for sure. Interesting pair up. I think it looks great with some noticeable P.S.M. DNA
This!

It looks like a bunch of prior stuff from FC and other designers. There's nothing here that makes me exclaim, "oh that's unmistakably PS-M!" Some of the Silberstein and Voutilainen collaborations with smaller brands have been more distinct. Also, this loo...

It is quirky in a nice way

I like it. And for the price too! But I think this is a watch you really must handle in the metal to see how the colour scheme and finishing actually look. BW, Chi Kai
I agree.

Hopefully I can have the opportunity to see it in flesh, but it probably sells out before I can get myself up to that… so now I’m thinking maybe I should risk it… 😊🤔
Design disaster
By: openworked : June 29th, 2022-14:16
I honestly think it's a design disaster. The brown and blue colorway really clashes IMO. The mix of abbreviations, dot markers, and numbers for the month indicator just looks sloppy. The font looks like a basic derivation of Helvetica. Everything is print...
I so disagree on the design
By: Homme de La Firme : June 29th, 2022-21:03
First: Brown and blue together is always a good choice, they are even officially complementary colours (in the ‘colour wheel’), which means is people tend to like them next to each other as we like complementary colours together. Personal preferences asid...
Agree to disagree
By: openworked : June 29th, 2022-23:04
Brands are pretty agnostic to me and I strictly look at design and quality of craftsmanship. I understand that FC is aiming for a certain price market but with such pedestrian finishing on the movement, the skeletonization honestly detracts from the desig...
Red and green is a very common colour combo, but not in watches.
By: Homme de La Firme : June 30th, 2022-20:51
Gucci has an old tradition of using red and green dials, and there’re tons of red and green straps of course, but mostly in watches one of the colours dominates (there’re quite a few times where red is used in the details of green dials). And of course re...
