why use environmental materials for collectible watch box
This is the plate for Foudroyante. It was attached on the box of the watch but the skin of the box was peeled off because the use of environmental materials. I think a lot of watch boxes use this kind of materials. But I don't understand why watch companies use this kind of materials for those expensive collectible watches. We carefully protect our watches for years and the boxes become trashed in just few yeas. Today I take my watch box to a skilled craftsman for surgery. And it will take a week for a reborn of my GP watch box. How will you do when your watch box like mine.
I created this discussion independently because this is not only happened to my GP watch box. Almost all my watch boxes have the same problem.

There is absolutely no need for such large boxes
Everyone really should think about the environment and future. Those expensive wooden boxes are completely unnecessary. A small pouch (leather perhaps) should be sufficient.
My preference is for the "coffin type" box that came with the Grand Seiko SBGR095
