Horological Meandering

I know this is not always the case but I understand that in some instances the packaging the watch comes in

 

costs more than the movement used in the watch, sometimes more than the entire watch.  I for one do not need a big fancy box or elaborate packaging when buying a watch.  

I wear the watch,  not the packaging  The only boxes I saved from watch purchases are the 3 Rolex boxes.  I tossed out boxes from TAG and Bell & Ross recently.  Most often vintage pieces
come with no boxes.
