I know this is not always the case but I understand that in some instances the packaging the watch comes in
costs more than the movement used in the watch, sometimes more than the entire watch. I for one do not need a big fancy box or elaborate packaging when buying a watch.
I wear the watch, not the packaging The only boxes I saved from watch purchases are the 3 Rolex boxes. I tossed out boxes from TAG and Bell & Ross recently. Most often vintage pieces
come with no boxes.

There is absolutely no need for such large boxes
Everyone really should think about the environment and future. Those expensive wooden boxes are completely unnecessary. A small pouch (leather perhaps) should be sufficient.
My preference is for the "coffin type" box that came with the Grand Seiko SBGR095
