When traveling in India I saw many swastikas...

I was told that it is fairly common in the Hindu religion. I think it is used for luck or protection. Was usually on storefronts and sometimes in powder or chalk on the floor in front of doors. Of course I could be wrong and this may not be custom work for an Indian gentleman, and in fact for an owner with hateful ideologies.

On the plus side if you see someone wearing the universally recognized symbol of hatred and racism on their wrist you know exactly who you're dealing with.

That symbol existed long before the early-mid 1900's. One of many objects stolen and abused by Hiter's regime. Sadly they tainted this symbol for much of the world by parading it front and center most places they went.

I haven’t seen the offending photograph but if you check which way the swastika is oriented, it should give you the intent. Being a Hindu I am perfectly fine with the swastika as a symbol, as I have grown up with it playing a large role in religious cerem...
