Watch theft is the new hype!
Watches and wallets were stolen for decades(my dad got mugged in the ‘70s in Italy), it’s not a new phenomenon, however being picked up by the media and social media, it seems to create a new hype.
But the greatest stupidity is explaining in details how it’s done so it serves as a training course for the tiffs!
As for Cali, it’s a sad situation, however you get what you voted for right...?

I could be wrong but I think technically in CA a LTC is a matter of public record so the list has always been there, just not publicized. Not saying it's right, but more that it's not arbitrary release of records but a consistent anti-gun mentality.

It's also a lot of unscrupulous dealers. It's in the industry news that some dealers get caught with multiple stolen watches. These dealers have been in the Los Angeles area in the past, Miami, and Diamond District of New York City.

I agree. i remember in 1994 in LA with the opposite party in power, carjackings were rampant.

I don't think there's an easy solution...
But you're right. Rolex's core competency is making watches. And they're so good at that - that's why the watches are desirable. And that's why the thieves are targeting them.
