Watch Choices

I like to buy watches based on their individual appeal to me, rather than the name of the brand. I currently do not collect particular brands, specific vintages or complications. I have an eclectic range of watches rather than a specific theme. I have a mental checklist of sorts;

1. Is there a particular watch that I have discovered on a forum, in a magazine or in advertising that I must see? (Heart speaking)

2. Do I have a particular requirement or need for another watch? (Head speaking)

2. Do I have the funds now or is it something to save for?

3. Is the brand available in Australia, ie locally. I don't really want to travel overseas specifically to get a Moser or ALS and hope that it is available in store at that particular time. I don't want to send thousands of dollars to someone only to discover the watch doesn't really suit me. By the way, why doesn't ALS have an AD in Australia???

4. Seriously, will I wear it? This is the deal-breaker. When I put it on in store, it must look and feel right and I must want to wear it again.

That is why I have the watches I have now.

Richard.
PS Of course, in the future as my tastes mature, who knows then what my criteria will be? This message has been edited by RJW on 2010-04-10 20:55:08
