Horological Meandering

Ugh!

Wow, given the watches you guys are considering, some of my choices seem pretty banal.  The question was about next purchases, not grail watches, and as I do not have any on order at the moment, I can oly say what I am considering , subject to change and all sorts of other qualifications. LOL

So here is the short list of the watches I am considering, very roughly in order of liklihood that I may actually get it, and some of the decisions I am making.  I may get one or two or none at all, who knows? All in good fun, right?  I am not in a rush, in any case, as I was fairly greedy over the last year and a half. LOL.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut SS with bacelet (I would like another daily wearer on a bracelet with enough water resistance and dressy enough to wear occasionally out and about) or the Audemars Piguet 15202 Royal Oak Jumbo  (with 2120/2121 movement by JLC), which is a classic with a killer movement. For some reason the Aquanaut really catches my eye and feels great, but the AP RO hits a lot of buttons for me and seems a far better value for the money.  For the next daily wearer, I would like to venture beyond JLC, but there are very few options outside of JLC in this "category" that make my heart skip a beat.

JLC AMVOX1  v. JLC Polaris Paris Boutique Edition in SS (LE 65) v. MC Diving Alarm Navy Seal -- I want an alarm but cannot decide other than that it should be a JLC.  Should I hold out to see if I can, some day, find a Boutique edition of the Polaris re-edition at a reasonable price? In that case, it might forever remain on the wish list.  The AMVOX1 I debate simply because I already have the A2, even though they are very different watches.  The A1 looks very dressy on the strap, but I would use it more on a bracelet and it might satisfy as a daily wearer (see above).  JLC does not make this easy for me! While I am at it, I might as well throw the JLC MC Memovox into the mix...stop laughing at me you guys!

JLC MC Diver GMT (44 or 46 mm) v. MC Diving Alarm Navy Seal -- as noted above, I am looking for an alarm, but as for diving watches, the MC Diver GMT has really grown on me, and I prefer its look and styling. I have not yet seen the 46 mm edition, however.  perhaps I need to to see the Navy Seal in the metal before deciding.  The MC Diver GMT, however, is one of the best "buys" I think in the JLC lineup and among diving watches, and as I said, I really LOVE its look. I like it both on the titanium bracelet and on the articulated rubber.  I sooooooo do NOT NEED a diving watch, however.

IWC Portugieser Jubilee -- perhaps one day...but it could also be the next one if a nice complete piece became available. This is a grail watch, too, but one that if found, might be in reach.

JLC Chronographe Retrograde Minutes, Cal. 829 -- I am in love and this would be a nice additon to my other JLC chronographs.  Not really a colored metal kind of guy, but I could makean exception here, and I think it would also make a nice dress watch.  Of course, then I would have to save up and get the Duometre (a grail, not likely any time soon, and thus not included on this list).

GO PanoRetroGraph -- like the IWC Portugieser Jubilee and the JLC Chronographe Retrograde above, perhaps I should forgo all the others and just hunt for this one. I love its originality, rarity, stealthiness (easily confused with the Panograph, and who but those here on the forums have ever even heard of that?) - it is awesome.

GO Cal 58 Chronometer-- if it is ever released in SS, I would seriously consider this one. I think it would make a nice dress watch, and it is so interesting.  So it is one the list, but unlikely unless the issue it in SS. Funny how this seems to be popoular this year. I think GO hit the mark on this new model in satisfying the Purists desires.

GO Calendar Week -- I LOVE this watch, however useless its featured complication is here in the US.  I am not sure I will ever get it.  It might be doomed to remain froever on the wish list, but I so admire it.

JLC Squadra (HT v. Chrono) -- this one is probably falling lower on the list given the other options above.  But I do love the Squadra line and perhaps if they ever do an alarm version, that might be a good option for me.
