Three different reasons on my part, Alec . . .
. . . the first being probably the most reasonable and common, that of raising funds for a more immediately desirable watch. I've also sold a watch because I was replacing it with a more complicated model in the same line, and didn't see a compelling reason to keep two aesthetically similar pieces in the collection. Finally, although I suspect this doesn't really apply to your query, I sold a watch that I'd acquired from a friend because he passed away under tragic circumstances, and didn't want to keep the watch as it would have been a constant reminder . . . cordially, Art
