Horological Meandering

The only story worth sharing . . .

. . . from a fifteen-year stint with an AirKing was waking up the morning after a Stones concert in San Diego during a downpour, and seeing water droplets all over the dial. At first, I thought that there was a drip from the ceiling, and after realizing that wasn't the case, checked to see if I'd slept with my glasses on, but no - there was water rolling around in my precious Rolex!  I'd left the crown a crack open, allowing rainwater to seep in.

A hurried trip to the watchmaker solved the problem of eliminating the water, and I had it serviced to prevent any chance of residual damage from contaminated lubricants.  Sadly, the AirKing is no more -  sold a few years afterwards to fund my first G O.

Good story, Scott, and well told.

Cordially,
