Horological Meandering

Or should I say “watches”, for you poor afflicted Purists? Is it based on your mood, the type of day you expect to have? Do you match the straps with the colour or your shoes? Your underpants? Case metal with cufflinks? Are you practical (GMT for travel, ... 

But please don't laught... Superstition! Yep, the mood is important, as I want to have a light watch, an heavy one, a comlex or a simple one, a big or a samll one depending of my mood of the day... But Superstition, too... If I have to plead something dif... 

A few factors determine what watch i wear. 1) physical activity. If it's going to be a day with lot's of physical work, and hence, more risk scratching my watch, i'd go with something cheaper, and more durable. 2) Mood. If i'm in a good mood, i'll wear so...

Due to the number of watches that I own, this is what I do: 1. I group certain watches together. Watches with date and without. Watches with date are used only when travelling, because I don't want to adjust the date everytime I want to wear them. Hence, ...

My particular watch craziness - My wedding set is platinum, but I have my late mother in law's gold band and on the infrequent occasions the watch is not stainless, white gold or silver I wear that instead. Otherwise my rules are the usual - form, occasio...

I have helped my indecision by arranging the watches carefully in my cabinet. Swatches are on the top shelf. I have a dozen of them and never wear them. Easy. About 25 Swiss & German are on the middle shelf. Electronic & quartz on the left, automatics in ...

. . . steel G O's equally, Andrew, and trot out the heirloom/vintage pieces regularly, if less often. My issue is with the gold G O's, which I wear only to formal events . . . I'm glad I have them, but they get precious little attention. Regards, Art
