I'd suggest you try wearing it proximal to the bone on your wrist (i.e., closer to the elbow).  For reasons that elude me, we see many postings of watches worn over the bone, where they are more likely to wobble and cause discomfort.  Every time I see this, I wonder why that fellow is wearing his wristwatch on his hand.

If the lugs extend when the watch in the correct anatomical position, you'll have your answer.
